  • Roman Baths, Xemxija Heritage Trail St. Pauls Bay Malta (map)

Troglodytic communities were an integral part of Malta’s rural medieval landscape. With caves and ancient burial sites as their homes, these communities tended to their livestock above the structure and cultivated crops in the valleys below. At Xemxija, there is one such cave turned tomb, turned Roman bath turned rural home; a site which Compagnia San Michele intends to breathe life into in an attempt to interpret the environment and daily lives of these people.

Important to note:
-The path to the complex includes rough/ overgrown terrain which can prove difficult to navigate with small children and the elderly - this is at the risk of the visitor.
-Not accessible for wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments.
-No toilet facilities
