INTERNAL - 16th Century Dress Presentation

As the focus of the annual calendar will be on the Early Modern period a workshop of the period’s fashion was organised. This was a session for members to present their research and share their aspirations for their future impressions.

Led by Gianluca Falzon the workshop consisted of a throw presentation covering men’s fashion in accordance with their role within the community at the time. The workshop also delved into the different layers and construction of dress supplemented by a deeper understanding of the textiles available in the period.

During the workshop, members were invited to identify different textiles, especially the differences between synthetic and natural materials.

A brief of the workshop will also be formulated as part of the group’s dress guidelines. This will also be made available for local groups invited for the international event in October. This workshop will be followed by practical workshops later in the project.
